Admission/Rules

Admission of any eligible candidate shall be subject to the following rules -
1.  A minimum of 40 percent marks in the Intermediate/equivalent examination is compulsory for a candidate of general category seeking admission to B.A./B.Com. Part I.
2. A minimum of 45 percent marks in the Intermediate/equivalent   examination is compulsory for a candidate of general category seeking    admission to B.Sc. Part I.
3.  A candidate will be admitted only on the recommendation of the Admission Committee constituted by the Principal of the Institution. Admission will be recommended strictly on the basis of merit.
4.  A minimum of 36 percent marks in the Intermediate/equivalent examination is required for a candidate belonging to Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes category.
5.  Admission Form submitted after the date fixed will not be accepted.
6.  Merit Lists prepared by the Admission Committee will be displayed on the Notice Board of the Institution at regular intervals. The Merit Lists will also indicate the dates of counselling as well as other relevant information.
7.  The candidate who had a gap of one year or more after passing out Intermediate examination will be placed in the merit list after deducting 5 marks for each year of gap from the total marks obtained. But the candidates who had gap of more than three years will not be allowed admission.
8.  The candidates shall have to present themselves before the Admission Committee for counseling. The candidate shall submit all the documents in original at the time of counseling failing which she will not be recommended for admission.
9.  Any candidate seeking admission to B.Com. Part I has passed Intermediate examination with the subjects other than Commerce may be considered for admission only when she had studied Mathematics or Economics in Intermediate.
10.     If any candidate does not attend counseling or fails to fulfill all the formalities by the appointed day another candidate next to her in the Merit List may be considered for admission in lieu of her.
11.     The candidates seeking admission to B.A./B.Com./B.Sc. Part I shall   deposit fee by the date fixed or else her candidature will be treated as cancelled.
12.     Examination Forms of the Lucknow University are generally filled during the month of August/September. It is the personal liability of the student. Before getting Admission Card for Examination the student shall obtain no dues certificate from the Institution.
13.     The following candidates shall not be permitted admission :-
     i.   who has failed in any of the Lucknow University Examinations of the last year.
     ii.  who was convicted for using unfair means.
     iii. who was debarred from appearing in the Examinations of the last year.
     iv. who has been convicted in a criminal case or has been under prosecution or is of a dubious character.
     v.  who passed Intermediate Examination in more than two attempts.
     vi. who has a gap of more than three years after passing out Intermediate Examination.
     vii. Admission of such candidate as has given wrong information or has obtained admission irregularly, will be cancelled.
     viii. Right of admission is reserved with the Principal.
     ix. Every student should get her name enrolled in the respective subjects after presenting the fee receipt before the teacher of the subject concerned within a week from the date of start of the session.

Important Dates for Admission -

14.               First year of Undergraduate Course in all the Faculties :-
          1.       Distribution of Admission Forms
                   26th of May to 30th of June, 2009(between 11.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m.)
          2.       Last date for submission of duly filled Admission Form
                   30th of June, 2009(between 11.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m.)

Note : All the dates mentioned above are subject to change as per the instructions of the State Govt./Lucknow University
15.     Information regarding admission, examinations and other activities in the institution will be displayed on the Notice Board and the students are liable to keep themselves abreast of the same.

 For the candidates seeking admission to II year and III year of undergraduate courses in all the faculties -
     The students of II year and III year of undergraduate courses in all the faculties are required to get admission in their respective classes within 10 days from the date of declaration of results. They are also required to submit the photocopies of the attested copy of mark sheet of the last year examination as well as that of address proof along with their Admission Forms.
16.     At the time of admission, the candidate will be issued a fee receipt in which subjects offered by her will be mentioned and she is required to keep it intact and will present before the teacher concerned and get her name enrolled in the respective subjects.
Note :- All the students are required to deposit their fees with Indian Overseas Bank, Rajajipuram(near Post Office) positively by the date fixed or else her admission will automatically stand cancelled and she will be solely responsible for it.
